Members may resign from their department at any time, provided they follow the mandatory protocols and adhere to the post-resignation restrictions outlined below.

Proper Resignation Procedure

  • Submission Requirement: To resign in good standing, a member must formally submit a Letter of Resignation. This must be done by contacting a member of High Command, or opening a resignation ticket if the department utilizes a ticket system.
  • Unauthorized Departures & Blacklisting: Leaving a department's Discord server without submitting a formal resignation is considered abandonment, and will result in an immediate blacklist from that department.

Post Resignation Cool-down Period

  • Two-Week Restriction: Upon resigning from a department, you are not permitted to join any other department within that same category for a period of two weeks. So for example, if you resigned from BCSO, an LEO department, you may not join LSPD within those two weeks, but you may join a Federal department like FIB, or an EMS Department like SAFR in that time.

Reinstatement Policies

  • 30-Day Reinstatement Window: If a member resigns in good standing (excluding those who transferred), they are eligible for direct reinstatement within 30 days of their departure.
  • Retraining Requirement: If a former member wishes to return after the 30-day window has passed, they cannot be reinstated at their previous rank. They must re-apply and complete the full-training process as a cadet, and start at the bottom.

High-Command Termination Policies

  • Rank-Lock: If a High Command member is terminated for any reason, they cannot rejoin that department for 30 days, they may also not be a Command position or higher in any department for 30 days.
  • Authorization: All terminations involving a High-Command member must be approved by the Department Coordination Team.
